Community Choice Credit Union was founded on October 9, 1952, with truly humble beginnings. Originally established as SD14 Federal Credit Union, it operated out of the basement of a member?s home before moving to an office in the Adams City High School Administration Building, and later to a small house at 4675 E. 69th Avenue in Commerce City. From the start, the credit union was built on trust, community, and a commitment to serving members where they were.

Over the decades, Community Choice grew into a trusted financial partner for the communities of Commerce City and Wheat Ridge, guided by a dedicated management team and the enduring credit union philosophy of People Helping People. By 2025, Community Choice has nearly 6,500 members and $97 million in assets, reflecting steady growth rooted in personalized service and local impact.

In 2026, Community Choice Credit Union will proudly become part of Climb Credit Union, marking an exciting new chapter in its history. As one organization under the Climb Credit Union name, this next step honors Community Choice?s legacy while expanding opportunities for members through enhanced products, services, and access across Colorado. While the name will change, the heart of Community Choice?its people, values, and commitment to community?will continue to thrive as part of Climb Credit Union.
